We promote an adventurous spirit through challenging our students to boldly explore their personal passions and expand their global connections.

Saint Paul’s middle school educators have a powerful opportunity to harness the energy and learning potential of this dynamic age group. With a unique learning environment  and intentionally small class sizes, our curriculum is tailored for a focus on critical thinking, making connections, creativity and forming collaborative partnerships. The middle school, grades sixth through eighth, pushes students to develop a worldview and prepare students for the finest high school experiences in the Bay Area as confident, eager learners.

Our Signature Programs.

In addition to six required core curriculum classes, every middle school student participates in two Signature Program courses each trimester. Embracing an adventurous mindset, students are encouraged to try something new to embrace a talent or find a new passion. Students are able to participate in courses from three different programs throughout their time in middle school. Our Visual Arts program provides students the opportunity to participate in a variety of classes, such as yearbook design, mosaics, and ceramics. The Performing Art program is taught by resident artists from Ruth Eckerd Hall and provides a stage for students to participate in our spring musical, choir, and chamber orchestra. The Engineering and Design Arts program utilizes a combination of our Fab Lab, our dedicated robotics lab, and our computer lab to explore classes in computer-aided design, 3D printing, robotics, photography, coding, and website design

Our Adventures.

While we focus on developing an adventurous mindset in middle school to promote moving out of your comfort zone, we also offer some amazing real-world adventures that take our students out of the classroom. Students can to take advantage of international travel opportunities, an overnight immersion trip to NASA, and class trips to Washington DC and New York City. Our partnership with Outward Bound provides students a chance to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains and canoe the St. John’s River while trained instructors teach compassion, integrity, excellence, inclusion, and diversity while guiding students through these challenging and rewarding adventures. .

Our Learning Spaces.

The middle school utilizes flexible and engaging learning spaces that promote learning in developmentally appropriate ways. Students are able to transition from independent work to collaboration with ease while still providing ergonomics and movement without disruption to the class.

Fabrication Lab at Saint Paul's School

Clearwater’s Fabrication Lab is the only digital fabrication lab in the area, one of two in Tampa Bay, and one of nine in Florida. “Fab Lab” is an educational outreach component of MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms and a platform for prototyping, innovation, and invention. The Fab Lab at Saint Paul’s provides the ideal landscape for middle school students to work with industry level equipment while participating in both core classes and courses within our Engineering and Design Arts program.  Take a moment to visit our Fab Lab website at www.saintpaulsfablab.org
